Dan has spent more than 14 years working in digital asset management. His path there wasn’t exactly direct.
In his early 20s, he left his first newspaper job to start a magazine in the Lake Tahoe area. From there, he moved to Portland Oregon and worked at various newspapers and magazines, before eventually taking a marketing role with a local DAM vendor. Before long, he was leading demos, then leading sales and customer success teams.
His journalism background still shapes how he works. Asking good questions and really listening for the story translates well to DAM. He still loves hearing the problems teams are trying to solve, and helping them find the path forward. These days, that happens mostly through content, aimed at helping teams learn what questions to ask and how to work better together.
Dan has a BS in Journalism from Central Michigan University. He lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife (who owns a boxing gym), their two kids, and their dog, Bubba. When he’s not working, he’s trying to surf, or otherwise be in the water. Realistically, though, he’s probably at a kid’s sporting event.
