Joan Hua brings over 8 years of experience solving information problems in various organizational contexts. Whether optimizing internal tooling or reducing friction in data flow, she works to design systematized solutions that center human needs. Her recent projects include workflow analysis for a major medical center, implementation planning for a global footwear brand, and metadata modeling in support of systems unification. Her work has resulted in streamlined workflows, increased findability of digital assets, enriched metadata, and better defined paths to navigate abstract challenges. She brings a strategic perspective that emphasizes stakeholder alignment, governance, and the full lifecycle of digital assets. Her hands-on technical work spans many systems, including content management, collections management, media/digital asset management, learning management, and more.
Prior to joining AVP, she worked as a Media Asset Manager at a broadcast organization, which allowed her to keenly understand the wide-ranging technical and business aspects of MAM. Her past experience producing digital and multimedia content also gave her valuable first-hand experience that allowed her to stand in the shoes of content producers, editors, and researchers.
Joan is a graduate of the University of Washington Information School, where she specialized in data curation and information architecture. She lives in Seattle.
